The Story

Short Story

I spend a lot of time thinking about chaos, order, and suffering. Chaos and order as an artistic theme, and suffering as an unresolved philosophical discussion. We fight through the chaos to try and find some order, and the suffering we either experience or hear about never seems to subside.

I was raised a Christian and converted to Catholicism through the providence of my wife. As a Christian I was taught to reach out to God in times of need. We’re also called upon to help those in need.

My intrigue with the concept of chaos and order comes from my artistic endeavors. I’ve always been drawn to the way our minds work to find order within the disarray of an abstract composition. Compositions in stone, black ink or pencil, on the verge of resembling something. A yearning to find order within the chaos.

I wanted to incorporate my drawings with my faith. Thus the cross emerging out of the chaos of curving, disordered lines. After experimenting with several drawings the slogan presented itself as the “why” to what I’m doing.

"May you find the cross, amidst the chaos of life."

The essence of what I'm hoping to express

To those who believe. To those who are distant. To those unfamiliar. How important it is to believe. To believe in God. To know he loves you and is truly there for you. And to see his presence in the beauty of our surroundings. In the arts, the natural world, and in life itself.

To fill the space of disorder and chaos with something Glorious, Joyful and Luminous. And know the presence of Sorrow allows us to grow closer to God thru the sacrifice made for us in Jesus Christ.
